Solstice Blessings to You and Yours 💝
Blessed Solstice, dearest Ones
As a Virgo Sun and Scorpio Rising, I have studied death intimately. And what I learned both elated and unsettled me.
It elated me because the idea of an ending, in and of itself, is a blessing; a promise that nothing - no season, no pain, no identity - remains fixed. Life is always in motion, always transmuting. Every experience, whether tender or shattering, carries a sacred singularity. It marks us. It reveals something not only about what we lived through, but about who we are becoming.
What once confused me was the realisation that the soul does not wait for the finality of physical death to encounter what my ancestors called the afterlife. In the Kemetic texts, they spoke endlessly of death and rebirth but I no longer believe they were pointing only to what comes after the body ends.
They were speaking of alchemy as a way of life.
Of night turning into day. Of grief ripening into wisdom. Of fear softening into love. Of maiden becoming mother, mother becoming crone. Of the self continuously shedding and returning, again and again.
I am quite certain now that when they spoke of coming forth by day, they were speaking of life lived consciously; of the soul choosing to rise daily through change.
And so, as the winter season turns us inward, and as the light begins its slow return, expanding with each passing day as the darkness gently recedes, may we remember that we are on course toward a great awakening. That the year ahead is yet another step along that unfolding path.
May we enter it together, hand in hand, lifting one another as we go with no one left behind. For the future no longer belongs to power hierarchies, exploitation, or endless wars. It belongs to remembrance. To cooperation. To shared vision.
Let us hold the Aquarian vision close, tenderly, fiercely, as if it were the last flame on Earth. And in doing so, may we discover that it has been living within us all along.
