Kemetic/Masry Astrology
For thousands of years, scholars have circled Ancient Egyptian astrology from the outside. Egyptologists who could not read the stars; astrologers who could not read the hieroglyphs. The scholarship that exists lives largely in French and German, untranslated and inaccessible. The methodology remained sealed.
What was missing was never more funding, more excavation, more academic papers.
What was missing was a bridge.
Someone who existed between both worlds simultaneously.
Between past and present. Between East and West. Between the logic of rigorous scholarship and the knowing that only comes through lineage and codes embedded in DNA and natal charts.
Between Arabic and English. Between Egypt and the rest of the world. Between East and West.
I spent years not realising I was being prepared to be that bridge. Moving between academic papers, PhD dissertations, Egyptological scholarship, and the living transmission of my own ancestors, whose guidance has more than once brought me to my knees.
What I discovered changes everything we thought we knew about the origins of astrology.
Ancient Egyptian astrology was not lost. It was absorbed into what we now call Western astrology but its core was quietly removed. Its heart was extracted, and the body traveled on without it.
I hold that heart in my hands. My mission is to restore that heart in its rightful place. That’s Ma’at’s orders.
And There Is Only One Place to Do It
Not in a classroom and not solely on a screen.
On the Nile. Between the temples. Where it all began.
On a dahabiyya — the grand sailing vessel my ancestors used to travel the length of Egypt — designed in the aesthetic of the Temple of Dendara, the most complete astrological temple that survives from the ancient world. The net of stars watching over us. Hapi, Neter of the Nile, carrying us.
This is where we - not only learn what the stars meant to the people who first mapped them - but how to communicate with them AND understand them when they communicate with us.
Who This Journey Is For
You have been beginning to practice astrology, or living close to it, or long enough that something still feels missing. A depth. A root system.
You have been dreaming about learning astrology but never quite found the right teacher or curriculum.
You are fluent in ‘western’ astrology but ready to learn it from its original source.
You are drawn to Egypt not as a tourist destination but as an origin point.
You understand that the most rigorous scholarship and the most direct ancestral transmission are not opposites. They are the same river and you are ready to sail it.
“I have studied with two other astrologers before Venus and no one had that level of depth in understanding and relaying the information ”
What Is the Children of Nut Odyssey?
This is an intimate, immersive retreat on the Nile River; a living classroom inside the oldest astrological tradition on earth.
You will not receive a surface introduction. You will be taken to the source. With real names. Real rituals. Real invocations. Direct connections.
We will work with the seven classical planets and the twelve signs as the ancient Egyptians understood them; through the Neteru who govern them, through the temple ceilings and the tomb walls, through the primary texts that Western astrology quietly borrowed from and never credited then distorted.
By the time we disembark, you will understand not only an ancient system: you will understand why it matters now, and what it restores in you and your life to know it.
“Venus has such a generous spirit and her way of delivering the teachings is exciting and calming simultaneously. She covers so many interesting topics and I always feel like there’s more to learn. I feel comfortable asking questions, and she gives in depth support and insights into your own charts. I’d say what are you waiting for?!”
This is a small-group, curated experience. Enquire to receive full itinerary and details.
The Odyssey
The original pilgrimage to Abydos began each year on the 24th of December; a sacred departure that would later become the first of the Twelve Holy Nights, still honoured across the Western world today.
And so we too make a pilgrimage to the stars to which Osiris traveled and ascended. Not toward an unknowable underworld, as the word Duat is so often mistranslated, but toward the celestial realm from which we all originally descended. The Duat is a homecoming, not a descent into darkness.
This is where we are going. We will sail through the net of Nut - she who stretches herself across the sky to receive us - and be carried beyond our wildest imaginings, back to our celestial origins.

Meet the Team
Venus Salem
Venus is a Hathorian whose medicine is astrology. She specialises in exoteric and esoteric astrology and teaches Kemetic cosmology in her mystery school Alchemy Queens Academy. Egyptian and British, living between the temples of Luxor and the leylines and dragon lines of Cornwall, where she raises her two sons.
Before her Uranus opposition, she was a published author, poet, and journalist, and a high school teacher; a woman fluent in languages, yet receiving nightly astrological initiations in her dreams that she had no words for. A wisdom transmitted in light language by light beings, luminous, precise, and entirely without context yet she could not translate the codes into words.
Then the veil lifted. What had arrived in fragments across years of dreaming suddenly cohered: astrology as alchemical language, transmitted long before she knew to call it that.
Venus reads astrology as the original psychology: a living map of the soul's architecture, not a prediction engine. Her approach weaves Hellenistic, Kemetic, and Sufi metaphysical traditions into a single lens, understanding the planets as expressions of the Divine Names moving through time and that those Divine Names were - once upon a time - understood as the Neteru of ancient Egypt. Not only are they psychological energies moving through us but also divine principles of nature and we move through them every minute of everyday.
Today Venus writes long-form essays and transit commentaries, produces monthly Moon Manuals for moon priestesses, leads Kemetic pilgrimages to Egypt, and teaches alchemy through her school. Her mission is simple: to bring Kemetic/ Masriyat astrology back home, heart restored.
Nymphaea Yasmine
Nymphaea is an Egyptian Hathorian medicine woman whose medicine is her voice.
Trained as an opera singer later in life, she carried for years the quiet knowledge that her voice held something beyond performance: a transmission waiting for its vessel. It was only when she returned to the temples of Egypt and entered into relationship with her ancestors that the vessel was finally found.
She now channels ancient Kemetic mantras in the classical operatic tradition chanting in r n kmt, the tongue of the ancients, to honour both the land and those who tended it before us. Alongside her voice, she works with crystal bowls and gongs, and holds blue lotus ceremonies that open the senses and soften the threshold between worlds.
Nymphaea holds space with the quiet authority of one who has been initiated by the temples themselves. Her sound journeys are transmissions offered in devotion to the ancients and to every initiate ready to receive.
Heba El Naggar
Heba is a dancer of sacred spirals and a teacher of embodied return.
Trained in law and language, she turned instead toward the older wisdom of the body; toward movement as a grammar the soul already speaks. Through whirling practice rooted in the cosmic principle that all things turn: planets, atoms, breath, the heart. She guides others back to their original rhythm, where stillness and motion become one, and presence becomes revelation.
Her teaching rests on a precise understanding: to whirl is not to spin outward into ecstasy, but to remain centred in an unshakeable point while the universe moves around you. To lose that centre — in body, thought, or feeling — is to leave the dance. To hold it is to enter the dome of love.
She is also a maker of small cosmologies. Her jewellery pieces are not ornament but geometry: forms that carry the memory of harmony between the human heart and the greater dance of the universe, earth and beauty pressed into wearable vision.
